Every Tuesday
20h00 @ Atrium Saldanha

LisBora is a gathering of friends and bicycles.
A weekly ride with a spirit of its own, pedalling through Lisboa, hanging out, discovering new places.

Bora Bora!

The Route

15 to 20 km. Surprise Map.

We gather at 20h00 and head off around 20h30.

A different map every week. We follow whoever planned the route, and we don't overtake them. We try to keep to one lane. We ride together and no one gets left behind.

Sometimes there are hills, sometimes it's easier. Sometimes we stay in the centre, sometimes we head to the outskirts.

We try to finish around 22h30 at a place with food and drinks and stay to socialise. A part just as important as the bike ride.

Prepare Yourself

It's an informal ride. Cars are on the road, rules and traffic lights still apply. Compliance with the law and your safety are your responsibility.

Lights

We ride at night. Essential to see and be seen.

Helmet

To each their own, but better to have one than not.

Bicycles

All are welcome, a comfortable geometry helps.

Tyres

Cobblestones, tram tracks, potholes...
Wider tyres save some suffering.

Mechanics

Test your brakes and put some oil on the chain.

Self-Sufficiency

Bring a spare tube and your own tools, if you can.

Respect

We share the road. We keep to one lane wherever possible (including on cycle paths), we respect those riding with us and we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind.

The Story

LisBora has been rolling for 6 years, the first ride took place on 4 February 2020.

A Frenchman and an Italian missed the social bike rides they had in their home cities. They decided to recreate that spirit in Lisboa, gathering friends for a weekly ride. Always on the same day, at the same time, at the same meeting point. The idea was simple: follow a different person each week and enjoy the moment, nothing more.

Over time and through word of mouth, this gathering became a true fixture in many people's routines, drawing dozens of participants every week. From these rides came friendships, stories, couples, and even a baby was born to two people who met at LisBora!

Common questions

We ride at a relaxed, leisurely pace that invites fun and conversation, stopping several times along the way to regroup. This is a hate-free ride: we have zero tolerance for any kind of discrimination, homophobia, racism or prejudice. Everyone is welcome here!
We usually stop pedalling around 22h30. The final destination changes every week, but we always finish somewhere central with options for those who want to eat, drink and keep socialising. Often at Mercado de Arroios or Cais do Sodré.
Yes, there's a group we use for real-time location, updates, and sharing photos. Ask someone to add you on your first ride. It's the only way to join the group.
All bikes are welcome. Modern, vintage, road, gravel, mountain, enduro, cargo, Dutch, folding, electric, Giras, your grandad's old bike, or any other pedal-powered vehicle you want to bring. As for what to wear: no dress code. You don't need to show up in lycra, but you can if you want. Wear whatever you like. Some people use the ride as a chance to express themselves, lights, music, and even costumes.
LisBora is not a club, a training session, an association, a demonstration, a competition, a guided tour with anyone responsible for participants, or a forum to sell services or products.
Come say hello! We meet at Atrium Saldanha at 20h00; there's always time for a chat before we set off. Every week there are new and experienced riders. If you want, join the WhatsApp group (ask someone in person to add you).
The group will stop and help. Supporting each other is part of the LisBora spirit. Bring the basics: a spare inner tube, a pump, and a few simple tools.
